Baboo - this thread is for you...

Man - look at the size of that ARC intake! They have moved the battery to fit the thing :D

With all those mods it is interesting to note they are using the stock calipers and rotors (just heat treated).

***update - pics of it in action --- from acurazine.com

Last time I checked direct with ARC they don't make induction box for CL7. I guess that's not made for CL7... but I want it.... :(

I would say for the same reason many people don't go for cold air set-ups: they don't want a big dead spot low down. The wider the rev range (with the most output) you can play with, the better off you are...
In racing, if you fall off the power band, you're stuffed!

Yeah.. nothing like screwing up your gear changing or letting the rev fall when you need it the most, those few small seconds could cost you everything.

So is the air filter set up similar as an icebox, or stock style??

that big red patch you see is the foam filter exposed in the engine bay if i'm not mistaken?

Looks like it may be -- but you would think that's not such a great idea.
I'm wondering if the whole thing is basically an airbox which is made up of foam filter sides -- so you'd have the same underneath getting cool air and the whole thing can just breathe in huge amounts...

If it is the filter on top, you'd think the car would have a bonnet vent.

essentially, isnt it like a SHORT RAM intake? cuz ur sucking up air from within the engine?

Chris_F

yea i'd say so but its hard to tell whats underneath... it may be a combo between cold air and short ram torque and hp gains throughout the rev-range id take it?
