hey peeps,
just wondering if anyone kno's wat size the stock front speakers r on a 94 Accord Vti-S :D
also wat could fit (or wat u have fit) into the fronts, still usin the stock grills.
*looks at my man poid :P*
5.25" are the stockies as far as i can remember...i have 7" dynaudios behind there now so anything smaller will fit no worries (as long as they arent too deep).
You also have a pair of tweeters at the base of the windscreen, which i didnt find out about till i owned the car for 6 months LoL ;)

Heya Calvo,
I've got 6.5 Clarion's in my front doors. didn't have a prob at all..
the tweeters with my splits didn't fit the stock location. (the possie poid mentioned) I ended up mounting them into that little triangle plastic thing that's on the inside of the side mirrors.
i've had no complaints, though the tweeters are quite bright.. :s
Anyone know the stock size of the rear speakers?

Have no idea on 5th gen specs but:
6 inch factory holes front and rear on the shoebox model (4th gen). My Alpine splits and 6 inch coax dropped right in, noooo trouble.

5th gens, 6x9s in the rear, fronts not exactly sure, but u can fit 6.5s with custom spacers. gotta be careful coz of the power windows, not much room for speakers with huge magnets, unless u wanna make some custom door pods :D

Stock is 6in, but I know on the prelude the bloody door pods are too shallow for anything decent, so cut them out. I have 6.5in's there now

i had 6" as stock, but fitting 6.5" was no problem at all, straight swap.

yeh the problem i had was finding decent 6.5in splits that would fit into the stock holes with stock covers...
and i only realised a few days (3days) prior to wen i was getting my stuff installed.
ended up gettin some clarion 6.5in splits, not too bad. not the best, but meh. im happy.
i've had both 6.5" DDDrive and 7" dynaudios behind there without issues, you just have to try and find speakers with shallow ish magnets

Hertz makes shallow mounted speakers
Calvo,
What problems did you have? What's the max depth or size you can fit in there?
Can you recommend anyting specific?
thanks :)

i actually never thought about it.
but 3 days before i was due for an install, i took my door apart to measure sizes. for some strange reason my window was also down, and i realised theres only a small gap between the spacers and the window wen its wound down. if i remember correctly, it was around 1in-1.5in between spacer and window. these rnt exact, but rough, u can prob check it out urself or ask for honda measurements.
so u gotta find speakers with a relatively shallow magnets, but thats only coz i insisted on using the standard speaker covers etc. u can go around this problem with custom door pods, but that costs $$ :D
u dont needa go awfully shallow, sumfin around 45mm-50mm. they can still fit, all u'll need is a custom spacer.
coz of the rush for me, i was limited to wat i could choose coz i was working and had no time to shop around. i ended up gettin Clarion SRS1624's (6.5in spilts). RRP for around $180, but u can get them alot cheaper. i believe some other nice, not over priced speakers that fit are the JVC CS-HS551's and CS-HS601's, which im told are very nice splits for wat u pay. there was also some alpines but i dunno the models.
prob best to ask someone with a little more audio knowledge than myself :D
hope ive been of assistance :P
