After a drive last night I noticed a slight burning smell but I can't tell where its comming from.
After driving again tonight I noticed it as I was parking.

afaik its not tyres or clutch and the smell doesn't stay, its only when I slow down to park I notice the smell.

anyone had a similar experience or knows where the smell is comming from?

could be dirt/mud on your exhaust piping

hmmm I was braking hard last night, but tonight was just quick drive to uni.
I doubt its dirt/mud on the exhaust piping coz it seems to be comming from the engine bay.
The smell doesn't last very long and doesn't appear to be noticable on idle, only after a quick drive. Coolant level is also ok and the coolant temps on the cluster are normal

No i had this problem 2 months ago, i just lived with it for ages then one day my car wouldn't start go the mechanic over and my battery was screwed, it was one of them cheap NRMA batterys, the smell was a sulphur smell coming from the battery. Since he replaced it i havent had the smell anymore.

oil blockage + burning ? Catalyic convertor new or just about dead ? brake fluid low ? pads screwed ? inside of tyres rubbing ?

Get under your car and look for any rub marks and also check all your fluid levels !

How low is your car to the ground? I drove over a plastic bag once and it stuck to the exhaust pipe lol... there's no way of getting it off once its been burnt onto the exhaust so I just had to put up with the burnt plastic smell (head spins) for around a week till it all burnt off.

This could be anything! Take it to a mechanic and have it checked out. If you want this re-opened because you have some more substanial evidence to what it is......PM a mod.
