Can someone tell me the difference in the numbers on the lower block for a Integra VTIR and a Type R.

I'm just trying to find out if a B18 block is an ITR or VTIR block.

thanks

difference between
*B18C VTIR
*B18C 96 DC2 type R

is it as simple as refering to engine block info b18c2 and b18c7?or is there any other physical appearance that i could see from one to another.

The GSR/VTi-R/SiR intake manifold looks upside-down compared to all other B series manifolds due to the fact it has secondaries which open at 5700rpm.

um correct me if i'm wrong but your head will be stamped with "P73" if it's a type R and "P72" if it's a GSR/VTiR/SiR-G

type R or b16 is PR3

but there must be SOME stamping to diferentiate between Type R and B16 heads.. yes they're the same head, but one has had mild port n polish and not to mention cams and valvetrain upgrades..

Ahh but the Japs are sneaky. Just the same as there engines. All there B16a's are stamped b16a, all B18C's are B18C. None of thie C2, C5 or C7 just JDM efficiency.

Smartypants not talking about BLOCK stampings.. talking about HEAD stampings.. the bit that says B16A/B18C.D16Y8 is the BLOCK yo !!

I know that.

Im just saying they could use the same head stampings on both HEADS. Because they use the same block stampings on both BLOCKS. ie VTi-R and Type R blocks are called C2 and C7 but in JDM land they are Both plain old C's. Could use the same method when stamping both B16a and Type R B18 Heads.

Actually it says on the FRONT of the block (exhaust side) "PR3/4"

however I'm pretty sure it is also stamped with something else on the intake side.. I vaguely recall it saying P30 either on the underside of the IM or the Block under the IM.. but not sure
