Hey guy with EG Hatchs', how have you installed a sub and amp in the boot? Have you put it directly on top of the spare tire and jack cover? Or where did you put in, need some suggestion pls. If you have does the cover make real bad noise when the bass is pumpin?

screw ur amp(s) onto the back seat. and just put ur sub there facing the back. depending on what size sub u have if u have a 15" it will "just" fit and u might have to put washers on the back dek to lift it higher since the box will touch it.

Cooling could be a problem with the last two options!

how is it bolted on though? Is the sub bolted/screwed on to just the cover, you know the thing you pull out to get the jack or spare, or to the actual chasis

best bet is to take out the thin crappy stuff that covers the spare and use it as a template to make something out of a thicker mdf. will be more solid to bolt something down to and is better to subdue any rattles for sound quality purposes.

make sure you mount your amps in a reasonably well ventilated area too so they get cross air flow and can get rid of their heat efficiently otherwise your amp is not going to last as well as it should and wont give its full potential.

also just as a quick note, make sure you bolt any sub box down to your mdf floor before you put it in the car because screwing into the floor while installed in the car is a good way to screw into your spare tyre

ROFL my mate did that once (drilled into tyre) . i havnt scewred down my sub box it fits perfectly and doesnt even move. as for the amps make sure they do get some air, i personally think if u have a good amp it shouldnt overheat cause mine never have (and i sometimes abuse my system for long periods of time) and the amps have never overheated.

its not really about what type of amp you have. even the cheapies disperse their heat reasonable effectively, its just best to have them mounted in a ventilation area so they get cross flow to allow the heat to disperse rather than collect.
once the heat starts to colloect around the amp im sure you can expect failure in the amp sooner or later
