resonator OUT!!

just a quick question...takn out the resonator as iv done...is it any MAJOUR big defect.... coz iv did sum CAI with sum piping....

I got pull by police b4 coz my car was too loud without resonator.....

should be fine , as long as you have either the stock airbox still in the engine bay or an enclosed pod etc.

From my experience, as Ben said, as long as you have a stock box, or your pod is fully inclosed it should be fine

a resonator is only another muffler. not all cars have one and u wont get introuble without it, only if ur car is too loud, i have 2 resonators and one muffler at the end, but im gona take out either one or both to make it a lil bit louder... its only major fines and stuff if u take out the cat.

The resonator only affects NVH (and possible a bit of power)......I don't see how you can get defected for it ?

Take the resonator out its not a defect as i have had cops look at it and it was no worries, just gotta have the POD inclosed and fixed to the car.

resonator just works for silencing purposes due to the fact it takes the tinny sound out of the exhaust. when it comes to induction resonators there is no law that does not permit it but if the cars intake noise is too high it can be deemed a defect only on noise grounds, doesnt actually do anything for your emissions

mind u all iv stil got my Pod on...i might put my stock air box bak on though...jus to be on the safe side...but ye u can feel a difference...

ma friend with a 300zx was cruising around past his uni and he got a letter sent home from RDA saying that his car was too loud. And need to get the exhaust setup tested and obviously removed. And yep he got his resonators taken out b4 he got the letter. It's definately a decision i would recommend pplz.
