HI i got a 2001 S2000 and when i up gear 2nd and 3rd gear are really rough .but when i down gear it's all really smooth . anyone know why?? :confused:

i have noticed when fanging the car its easy to mis shift 2nd to 3rd....but other than that its all good, also the gearbox feels like shit in the mornings when its still cold...

Dont stress out about it. If I was you, id rather be safe then sorry, just change to tranny oil. Id go with Motul or even just the regular Honda oil.

It's advisable to warm the car up before you drive in the mornings to avoid difficulty in gear changes. (I read this on s2ki) What's 5 mins to warm the car up aye? ;)

It hink you have one of the following possible problems

1. Your transmission fluid level is low, in which case you need to fill it up with genuine honda mtf.

2. Your synchros are gone , meaning you or the previous owner has not shifted correctly a few times and has ground a few gears.

If I were you I would get the transmission fluid level checked asap, and possibly do a transmission fluid change using genuine honda fluid
