What pod?!

Hey guys, ive got a stock dc2r 01. What pod/air filter do you guys recommend?! im probably not going to do anything else to car, except probably run a cat back exhaust later on. Any suggestions on what type i should get and a price range?

Are u gonna keep the filter box too? (to avoid defects)

If so then get a KnN pod filter.

Also a CAI and taking out the stock resonator if it hasnt been done yet.

yeah, probably run a pipe from the front of the car (CAI), have you installed it yet? yeah take the box off!! nothing done to it! have you noticed a lot of change? power, fuel efficiency?

I prefer to leave the box on.

So it doesnt suck in hot air from engien bay and can suck in air more easily from the outside.

You can do open air pod but u may experience a bit of lag and absorb more heat than cold air.

Stock ITR intake BOX already has a pod inside.

You can get the KnN one to improve air flow and filtering, and u can reuse teh same pod simply by cleaning it.

IF u keep box on the VTEC sound due to induction wont be as loud as an open ended pod.

Just got my car serviced and got the air filter changed. Damn the stock Pod is ugly lol This big white thing. I had a K&N pod in there before and i could here a bit of induction. Now ive gone back to the BONE STOCK i cant hear a thing lol

why not just get a cheap pod to try it out first see if you like it then go for K&N or apexi or other brands?

You might as well save the money and get the KnN/apexi straight out.

I've just installed a Spoon replacement filter and very happy with results. Check my car specs to see. Purchased from JDM Yard for $200. :D

Last week i changed my stock pod for a drop in k&n pod. I can't really hear a louder induction sound although i know i have lost that distinct "vtec" click sound when your rpm needle hits 4400

As for performance gains? it responds a bit quicker and on the high rpm it feels like it wants to pull abit more. ALTHOUGH i can't really really compare this because my stock pod filter when i took it out (after 1-2 year's) was very dirty (grey instead of white).

i've got a trust airnix drop in filter in the standard airbox with a CAI into standard airbox. Works a treat :thumbsup:

yeah mate, i have apexi pod squeezed into the factory box, with 100mm flexi-pipe running from the front bar to the bottom of the box, easiest and best way to do it. Honda did a pretty good job with there design, the factory box is awesome for keeping the heat out!

i have a Blitz SUS induction kit just apop with mountings was like $300
bur yeah does tend to get a bit of heat...wanna make a shroud for it and get some cold air into it

i've got one from liverpool exhaust they're really good quality and wahsable so they last longer, performancewise i've heard they're good (from the guys at liv exhaust)
