Don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I beg any LS (and other older car owner) to go get a thorough service of their car done.
I had several things replaced, as well as timing belt, water pump and a valve adjustment, and the engine's whisper quiet! No more tick-tick ticking!
I can't get over how new the car feels now!
Also, the guys were impressed with how well the teg's still going, even with 215,000k's under its belt. I guess the frequent fluid and filter changes have done their job well!

Well, timing belt, water pump, several seals, rocker cover gasket and spark plug gasket rings, power steering pump, as well as the timing belt/gear plastic covers and the valve adjustment cost $660.
I do the oil, plug and filters myself so I saved a bit there.
Only bad thing is they've put evil ideas into my mind...mm LS/VTEC...

I rekon save yur cash from an ls/vtec conversion and buy a b18c or b16a2 cos ls/vtecs can be very tempremental if there not built properly. although if built properly, then u will gain a lot of power

Ye, there's still a faint ticking but nothing like before. The injectors may be contributing to that.
When I went to pick my car up I put in my g/f's for the timing belt, water pump and general stuff, and when I pick hers up I may put mine back in for some more work.
They are the only mechanics I trust with my car! Every other time it's been somewhere for repair, I've stayed with them to make sure they don't scratch anything!
