im a brand new here at OH, but i hav searched and read up heeps but left me confused as hell. im looking for a VTEC sedan 5G 92-95 but dont know if my info is correct.
EG6=JDM SIRII? 5G B16A(2) DOHC 170hp (avail if private import) rare
EG5=AUDM VTI 5G D16.. SOHC 125hp (avail here). common

im definately gettin a 5G VTI sedan (5G coupe...in my dreams) but was wonderin r there any other model VTI 5G 92-95 sedans that have DOHC or is jdm sir2(also in my dreams) the only one?

pleaz dont flame me, its my first day...

so the eg vti 93-95 has SOHC vtec but si has SOHC non vtec. if they hav same output, why get vtec?

hehe,...VTi is sohc vtec and Si is just plain DOHC WITHOUT vtec. Vtec sounds nice...and gives good fuel economy ^o^ Power when u need it. good luck with ur hunting

thanks. ive eliminated the si from my list, altho it's gr8 car and some say better acceleration, but my dad swears by vtec efficiency so ill prob get vti, or if im lucky enough, one wit b16a engine swap or if very lucky jdm sirII. btw, im looking at some specs, eg vti sohc are eg5 and sirII are eg6 right? whats an eg4 and eg9?

whoa, thats pretty confusing...
I got this from http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1109602
note: (jus looked at stuff concerning 4dr-sedans)

5G (1992-1995)
EG1 D15B JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X
EG2 B16A JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X
EG3 D13B JDM All 3-door/4-door
EG4 D15B JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X
EG5 D16Z6 EDM All 3-door/4-door
EG6 B16A JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X
EG7 D13B JDM All 3-door/4-door
EG8 D15B JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X
EG8 D15B7 USDM All 4-door DX/LX
EG9 B16A JDM All 3-door/4-door/del Sol CR-X
EH9 D16Z6 USDM All 4-door EX

SIRII sedan b16a(2) 170hp DOHC JDM (my dream car) = eg9 or eg6?
so whats a common 93 onwards, vti sedan SOHC with vtec 125-130hp/96kw then?
i hope any of this thread helps some other noobs too...

EG2 B16A JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X ?? 3dr? 4dr? dont think so.

EG1 D15B JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X <--- why is this
EG8 D15B JDM All 3-door/4-door/CR-X <--- same as that

im pretty sure it would be eg5 dude :)
also, when u were mentioning 5g before... that has been shortened on the list u looked at, its referring to "5th Generation Civic" and EG is the chassis code for 5th gen civics.. 6th gen is the next up.. ie EK. 7th gen are the newies :D

good luck in finding yourself an EG :thumbsup:

as for coupes.. they arent actually EG, they go buy EJ1 and EJ2.. and they werent produced in aus, although on occasion u see the rare one drive around. Just some info for u :)

yep if your after a 5th gen sedan, the best we got were the Si and Vti.

Si = 1.6L DOHC non-vtec
Vti = 1.6L SOHC vtec

pretty sure they are eh9

In regards to the power output I more often read that the B16A has either 117kw or 160 hp not 170hp. If you convert the two of them they more accurately become 117=156.836 and 160=119.36.
