I havnt but know someone who has, and he got an Exedy clutch and flywheel combo, it just worked out to be more value for money to get both rather than just a clutch. cost $1400 all up, im not sure from where. But its definetly money well spent.

I'm more worried about cost of installation.... any idea of that?

You should not pay more than $300 for instalation. No matter what anyone say, anything over 300 bucks is a rip.

Are you serious? $300 on an S2K? Cheapest dealer quote I've had is $1800, up to $2500.

Yeah have to drop the engine apparently to get to GB to take out clutch.

i saw one getting done and yes the engine has to be dropped to get the gb out. The labour involved was intense. I could only assume that if a mech quotes $300 for a clutch change then he doesnt know what is involved and will be in for a rude awakening. Plus do you really want someone who doesnt know what is involved to do the job for you??

To tell you the truth, if the job sounds big it doesnt mean the price need to be big too or its worth around $2000. If you have the equipment all there, then its not much hasles. I know its a hard job but no way in hell worth $1800 I think someone said in labor.

Call yourself:
Robert Lane Honda: $2500 (inc clutch which is ~$600 for OEM)
Travis Honda: $1900 (")
Astoria Honda: $1800 (")

I dunno why there is such a huge difference in price between dealers though:confused:

i had mine done and it cost $440 i think, or was it $330 for labour, one or the other, it was from a mechanic which specialise in Honda and Alfa, i had a spoon clutch and a spoon flywheel fited. when he pulled out my clutch he recommended me to change the pressure plate aswell, which i did, whoever it was only an OEM one.

I had mine done for $200 :D
Seriously it's not that hard to do as long as you know the trick and can access a hoist.

You basically have to lower the fron subframe holding the engine. There are 6 long bolts. You just undo them until you have enough room to access teh top bolt holding the gearbox and engine together. It's not that bad.

hey Guys ..
good to see a few familar nakkes in here from S2ki !

Well , i actually rang up for quotes when Honda wouldnt replace my clutch due to the "buzzing" in 2 and 3rd gears ...

I rang my good mate Rob from Hanny's performance ... and its $1300 for a OEM 04 spec clutch + $300 labour to fit , includes new gear box oil too ( later spec clutches no longer have clutch buzz problem) .
And a possible $300 on a new fly wheel considering the condition of your currently fly wheel weahter it requires replacing or not . the job takes about 3-4 hrs .... and requires the suspension to be dropped and gear box dropped out . Anyone want Hanny's details just pm me .
And i have had my previous CRX clutch replace by Hannys and they did a top job on it .
