Heya Guys i've just hooked up my headunit with 2 front splits and amp. ..
but when i turn off my car the amp doesn't turn off and there is this fuzzing noise coming out of the tweeters and it sounds like it's always on ..
and when i turn on the car there is this loud "pop" noise coming from the speakers ..
i thought it would be ok to leave it like that .. next morning came .. i tried to start my car GONE it didn't start battery had died overnight ..
just wondering how can i fix this up :(
Thanks in advance!
Did you connect the Head unit 'remote' cable to the amp? That is the wire that send signal to turn it on/off when the H/U turns on/off.
EDIT:
(if I remember correctly it's usually orange in colour, depending on car make/model)

Yeah, you need to connect the remote from the amp to your head unit, i'm not sure if its technically correct or not but if you don't have a 'remote' line on your head unit you should be able to connect it something else that turns on when you turn your key to acc. so that it'll turn on as well as off. i think for my brother's pintara his hu didn't have a remote line but the amp turned off when the car was switched off. The colour of the 'remote' line on head units vary, as my jvc is blue for remote.

yeah if you dont have a remote turn on then use the ariel power wire. Problem should be solved.

if its a boss amp or similar just throw it away
the remote wire is usually blue in most new head units
check that the power cable is screwed properly into to the + terminal and not touching the remote terminal at all. this would cause the amp to stay on even if you have a remote wire there
if your deck doesnt have a remote wire then wire the amp to the accessory wire, make sure you dont wire it to the constant power wire.
if your getting funny sounds thru your speakers make sure to check the ground wire that its grounded properly, and use a washer.... it heaps alot!
and dont run your RCA leads together with your power cable as this also causes noises thru your speakers
