In short, its not a good idea! yes its cheap and from what i understand all it does is make your car run lean. Besides, he's charging you $12 for a resistor which you can pick up at dick smith for around 10 cents.

$12 bucks, 20 HP.

Sounds realistic for a n/a car.

My car runs rich as. I drop the hammer and all i see is a plume of black smoke...looks like a turbo car running rich. Every time i clean my car i have to wash the black soot off the back of my car. Im going to give it a go and see if it will lean my car out a bit.

12 bucks...thats cheaper than a pack of ciggy's

it fools you computer into thinking the engine is cold, now on a vtec car they dont come on vtec untill a certain temperature, and they run different ignition timing when cold so you get no Vtec and no ignition advance
whats the point??

dont waste your time or your money.

its a bit of a broken record thing, but you gotta pay the cost to be tha boss..

aint nothin for free, its like buying your clothing at Uncle Bob's Sweatshop.

Sure, its cheap, might do the job, but it'll probably do some serious damage and end up costing you more in the future, spend the cash on something useful.

z3lda, please keep the posts related to the thread title.

hmms as for the chip mod, seems to good to be true. 20hp is a rather lot......althought his ebay rating seems not bad at all 99%, just have a read of the feedback and decide for yourself.

im not looking for extra power, im looking for better fuel consumption....my car swallows 20 bux a day of fuel. runs hell rich.

Vtec control has nothing to do with your IAT ( intake air temp) sensor.

If it doenst work, i'll admit it but im going to see if it does as soon as it arrives.
