i've only owned the car for around 1500kms or so.
only light revving will bring out this sound.coming
maybe only last for like a good minute or so. pretty sure its coming around the fuel rail/TB area. something more surface distance

had it serviced almost immediately with castrol R syn if that makes any difference.
every looks and seems fine.
just that sound worries me deeply

if its a tap tap tap sound, could be the injectors, this noise will be consistant to tempeature and not change when engne warms up, but will change when revs change

tappets will be noisy intermitantly, or all the time, but its not so consistant as injector noise. ( depends how bad they are ) more of a clapp sound sometimes as well

its a good idea to use a feeler gauge and set the gap between the valve and rocker arm back to spec (while the engine is cold), that might help and can get rid of tapping noises....

yep could be, i think it is more of a tic tic tic tic sounds though (if that makes sense)

COuld it be pinging? your cold start not giving enough fuel?
What fuel you using? try using a premium 98 octane and see if this changes.

But since it is coming from your fuel rail it sounds mostly like your injectors when they are cold, they might be dirty. Maybe get some injector cleaner and that might stop the noise. Otherwise take it to a mechanic for a free quote. I think Midas offer that.

btw revving your car when its cold will shorten its life.....

cold start give heaps of fuel Limbo - unless there is something majorly broken...

i have NEVER heard of an healthy engine that pinged when not under load....

(BTW - i often rev my car when it is cold in neutral... but lets not go there eh?)

Yeah that's what i meant by it not giving enough fuel. maybe the cold start is stuffed?

maybe the cold start is stuffed?

i just tap the accelerator sometimes to help the engine warm up abit quicker.
get the oils flowing note i only do this for about minute then i drive off slowly keeping below 2grand until idle temp.
just had to say this incase some smart ass wanted to bagg me out for letting it warm up for too long i.e let it idle for ages before driving.

i dont revv it up, thats just stupid
