hey guys, i need help in finding out whats wrong with my car? It started today when i drove out of my drive way. Firstly, when im in first gear i slowly accelerate and just before it goes past 2500 rpm it changes sound. It starts to sound like im in reverse and my other gears sound like it too. What do guys think it is?

Im thinking gearbox or is there something loose like my exhaust manifold?

Any ideas welcome

it sounds more transmission related than exhaust to me.

Go directly to a mechanic I would say.

Its a "whine" like when you rev in reverse yeah ?

yeah it sounds like that... it doesn't really affect acceleration or anything... it's just bloody annoying

my car does the same...very annoying in carparks and low-speed driving and the "whine" is VERY noticeable. It is associated with one or more bearings in your gearbox - either ISB or others....get it checked out asap :)

did you get yours checked up?? and is yours fixed now?... im goin tomorrow morning to the mechanics

I had my gearbox checked out and the input shaft bearing replaced - but the bearing on the other end of the main input shaft now need repair too ! *WHINE*

You will best take off your gearbox, take it apart and replace most the bearings etc...$300++
