hey guys

I have a B18B in my LS

just recently I've been experiencing that when I go to start the car and then drive it around, lets say to the Petrol station then I go to start the car its just wont start???????
it has heppened to me before like a yr ago then it went away and now its back.

what really happens is that I go to start it, the engine cranks over but it feels as if it gets either no fuel going through the fuel rail, or no ignition.

I have checked for loose connections and stuff I have also even reset the ECU but still no good.

sometimes it does atart but then it strugles to Idle then it just DIES

Could it be the fuel pump?

or maybe a rail problem?

Oh and also when this happens I tend to not be able to hear the hissing sound of the petrol pump, and always before starting the car I let the pump fuel up the rail before cranking it over!

could someone help me on this?????

Cheers!

Alex

im pretty sure its your main relay. you just gotta resolder the joints again, or get another one from a wrecker. common problem i believe..

sounds like the classic case of dry solder joints in the main fuel relay.. on short trips or if your car has be idling at 2000-3000 rpm and the temp rises the joints in the relay expand or contract in different directions causing gaps or bad contact areas... wreckers can get u a used for bout 30bux but may not be any better then the one u have in ur car and as stated above .. resolder it... or get a new one..

I'd just resolder it anyway, it's bound to fail soner or later. Happened to me both with the prelude and integra.

Thanks guys!

just resolder it... no need to replace

just did it about 4 days ago on my crx... hardest part is taking the thing out from behind the dash.

Ok so this main relay is under the dash right?

is it the one next to turn signal relay and fuse box?

I might get into it once I get home from work. :D
