Mate I have over 3 years experience of purchasing and selling on ebay, only had one annoying transaction.

With car audio, I recently purchased my entire setup from an ebay seller, you should becareful of, the sellers reputation, look for power sellers, and % of positive feedback, and ask as many question prior to buying.

with overseas purchases, be careful of jacked up shipping prices, and allow for the possibility of cutoms tax (I have done over 60 transactions no tax as yet).

I bought my gear from an Australian based seller, and even picked them up, he charged a little more, but when u factor in the shipping, and waiting times it was more than worth it. Plus cos I got it from an Australian seller, I have full 12 month warranty and receipts.

Hope that helped, as for the speakers I cant seak from personal experience I run Pioneer TS-C160r and Im very happy with those.

apparentely they have a full 12 month manufacturer warranty and they come with the focal authenticity card. the seller is a platinum power seller. so this means there good?

I got 2 Alpine 12in Type R's on Ebay, Brand new, shipped to my door very quickly, for under $500 about a year ago, Ebay is for good for some things, and other things can be very poor products. (eg no name brands, brands never heard of before). If a product seams too good to be true then it prob is. eg coilovers for 0.01cents + delivery etc. Just ask lots of questions and look for people with a good repuatation.

One thing to keep in mind, the warranty on items purchased from overseas DOES NOT APPLY HERE, so buyer beware :)

i also saw that same ad...it seems a bit too good to be true tho - the savings is around 50% from the shop price!

i too havent bought anything from ebay b4 so im also a bit wary of it.

I bought my Rockford HU and a set of Sennheiser headphones from eBay and my brother has bought hundreds of items and the worst problems we've had were 1 DVD was "lost" in transit and I had to pay 30 bucks tax on my HU, other than that.. smooth sailing. Just check out the seller before buying.

BTW.. savings of 50%+ are not uncommon.. I got my AUD750 Headunit for AUD300. It's especially common if the item is manufactured in the same country that the seller is located in.

Before you guys go out and buy these speakers you should ring up East Coast Distributors who bring Focal into Australia. Im 99% sure an ebay power seller is not listed as one of their authorised dealers dealers hence you will not receive manufacturers warrenty.

I think Customers are required to ship the product back to the seller for any claims of warranty (at buyers cost)...
