i have a set of 4 stud 18.5x8.5 rims
they were on my civic .. fit nicely though it scrubbed whenever there was a third person in the car.
then i got it lowered and then it just scrubbed lik a mofo
in the other thread someone said they took out that black thing behind the guard. but that was referring to 17x7 rims
should i bother trying that? or are the rims just to big?
i'll prob will end up trying .. then i'll tell you guys how it goes
i rekon it'll still scrub .. not as bad ..but yeah =(
but the rims loook so niceeee

if you are talking about the splash guard (aka. black thing behind the guard) and removing it, it will help, but it is defectable to not have a splash guard in your arches.

whats the down side of removing the splash guard?
well i'm assuming the splash guard prevents water from reaching the inside of the guard. therefore protecting it from long term rusting.

potentially.... i'm not sure if there are any wires or anything else running behind the splash guards either. maybe someone can confirm?

It may also help if you roll your guards...

get thinner friends...
lol nar ive lost my splash guards dues to *ahem* certain incidents. Only difference is that when water splashes up you can hear it more. Probably affects the handling more. Dunno about wire or anything tho. Get your guards rolled might help. I got 17s and they only scrub if i turn a corner too fast.

my bro had 17s and they rubbed with 3 people in the car. he then removed teh spalsh gaurd but still rubbed but not as much ( only when taking tight corners and crap). only way i can think of to fix this problem is rolll ur gaurds, get stiffer suspension.
correct me if im wong.

lip your guards (front and rear) and remove those inner guars should be lot less scrubbing
18s on civic is hot so don't take them off...lol...
my friend has 19x8.5 on a new civic, does not scrub so bad but new civic does have bigger room than its previous civic
