Mud guards question

Just changed from a aftermarket front bar to a Stock facelift front bumper for my EM1, just having minor problems with the side mud guards, so just wondering if someone can tell me how the side mud guards for the facelift civic are connected to the front bumper?

When you say side mud guard are you referring to the black guard that sits in the wheel well or something else?

yeap.. just infront of the front wheel arcs... from under the car looks like a kidney plate or something :p
