Hi all,

I recently just purchased a 2003 Type R. I insured the vehicle with Just cars and one of the requirements is to have two point immobliser.
Can someone recommend a decent alarm system that would meet this requirement?

Other extras that I would like to come with the alarm system is internal siren installed under the dash in case one of those bastards managed to get inside the car and try to steal my seats, hopefully it would be loud enough thieves will find the sound unbearable.
I would also like to keep the same remote to unlock and lock the doors, ie using the Original pager or whatever you call it to activate the alarm.

My budget it around 500-600.

Your help is greatly appreicated

what you can do is get an upgrade alarm this works of your original remote/reciver its like a piggyback upgrade alarm
with the internal alarm thats just an extra siren any alarm can do this
you can get upgrade alrams from strathfield and they are compatible with extra sensors as well, ie microwave/motion sensors

try to get a battery back-up siren too incase they cut your power supply, the siren will continue to go off...

Brant = Key pad alarm system. Even if they have the key and alarm system it would be pointless without the 4 digit code.

+

Ebey = two way pager alarm system. Brant alarm system will not alert you when your car is been broken into when your sleeping but this will.

ayayay, wait up, make sure you havent already got one cos ive had mine for 6 months and my dads had his for 2 years and we only work out thery had alarms the other day, wind down the windows, close all doors, press the remote central locking to lock it and then pull the little lock plastic pin on the door up and open the door, u will then know if u have one or not. :honda:

Brant is a little pricey coming in at about 900 bucks. I did a lot of research when i got my alarm, and the two brands i most reccomend are. Cyclops or Mongoose, they seemed to have the better reputation, all u need is the upgrade alarm
i believe its cyclops p455 should be bout 200 - 300 installed.

Mongoose also has an upgarde alarm that will work.

Oh and your car already has a 1 point immobiliser using teh chip in the key,

but you do need a separate 2 point immobiliser, both of the upgarde alarms mentioned above have 2 point immobilisers

There was one i read about ages ago on an insurance site not sure who it was aami or justcars but it was lik 6 point immobiliser, anyway just ask you insurance what alarm they recommened, they have prefered alarms.

Brant key pad alarm system is $400 installed and a 2 way pager alarm system around $300 on ebay.

the one with a 6 point immobilser is the brant, but they consider some things such as keypads to be an immobiliser

they told me 700 to 900 installed.

depending on what features i wanted,

also keep in mind that this company is now bankrupt

im talking about the key pad itself. that will stop a unwanted person who has your keys and alarm.

i got mine for $400 and had no problems with it.
