Not much difference really. I have an 03 VTiS and its great.
The 05 has a few changes:
- New bodykit with full replacement front and rear bars (not just lips). I prefer the rear spoiler on the 03/04 model though as it was bigger and more aggressive
- new alloy rim design
- new head unit
- new gauges
- new seat trim fabrics

Overall, i think like facelift model over the pre-facelift. I like new wheels, and bodykit. But i got to agree the old wing is better. Interior, facelift wins it hands down. Gotta love the illuminated dials and the steering wheels looks much better in the facelift model :)
If facelift model didn't come out, i don't think i would consider getting a jazz much because the interior didn't look great. But now it's thumbs up

Are you planning to do it up with your own choice of bodykit/wheels/etc..??
Somehow or rather, VTi has better fuel economy than the Vtis. If you are like me, happy with the Vtis bodykit and a few extras that comes with it (wheels, etc) and cannot be stuffed looking/sourcing for other bodykit, wheels.. then go for the Vtis..
If you just want a car to drive around with great fuel economy, Vti or Dsi is the way to go..

i am thinking of lowering it and putting in some bigger wheels...but for bodykit choice..there arent many to choose from in adelaide and not to mention..they are expensive too..
i'll see what bargain comes along ..

is it true? why Vti has better fuel economy than Vtis? Do they have the same engine and everything except the bodykits for VTIs?? i am confused

VTi and VTiS has the same engine and mechanical drive train, except VTiS is about 15 kg heavier (don't know the exact amount) than VTi due to the body kit and other accesssories.....

MRFIT, for some reason.. I think there are more to it other than the 15kgs..
E.g. A few of the guys here (Vti) normally can do 6.0 - 6.5L/100km...
No matter how granny I drive, I struggle to achieve 6.8L/100km... I am on the 7.0 - 7.4L/100lm range... Can't be my driving style..
Must be something I reckon... I could be wrong...

Your right its not just the weight its the wheels. 14" instead of 15". Different weight and more importantly rolling resistance. The car was designed around 14"s.
Stick even bigger and stickier wheels on and enjoy further decreases in fuel economy.
My 14" Honda (Enki) alloy wheels look good enough for me and every single week forever more I save at the bowser and that saving gets a bit bigger every time the fuel prices rise.
The leather steering wheel is the only thing I miss not having a VTiS. I certainly don't need fog lights in the middle of Sydney.

Now that my jazz vti-s has nearly done 9000kms, the fuel economy seemed to have improve. I'm sitting at 6.6 as we speak but i'm pretty sure i can acheive lower than 6.5 if i tried to.
Maybe it's because you drive in areas with lots of hills and more frequent traffic lights.

Not that heavy lah .. trying to loose some weight at the moment.. 1 - 2Kgs over the idle weight which is 77Kgs.

I've done about 12,000kms now and fuel consumption is about the same.. You are quite right.. my area definately got a few uphill roads and also a few traffic lights.. Also, most of the time, I drive with manual shift and enjoy a bit of fun with the paddle shift (even though I change gears below 2500rpm).. that could definately make the fuel consumption goes up...
Back to the topic, yeah... one of the differents between the 04 and the 05 is the paddle shift in CVT.

so when u guys said u are doing 6L/100km..does that apply to 1.5 manual/auto or 1.3?
bluevti
22-09-2005, 01:48 PM
Under average conditions (for me) I normally getting around 6.5L/100
But this depends a lot on how much city driving I do. With pure city driving, drive 500m stop start type motoring i get ~7.5L/100. Just country driving i get ~5.5L/100. If I'm only doing 80-90 km/h this goes down to low 5's.
Thats for manual 1.5 running Caltex 98 octane and I'm a bit of a lead foot so could probably get better if i eased up a bit.
