I have talked of this before and with increased amount of threads lately from members with DIY detailing etc being written and some really good info being shared its a shame that they are all floating around in the LOUNGE and APPEARANCE/GALLERY section where it cant be easily found and gets lots in the archives.

I know there has been a sub-section made in the appearance/gallery section but it's not being used like it should be and unless it's promoted i dont think anyone will. Why not just create a new forum for detailing etc.

Car cleaning etc is the ONLY thing that almost EVERYBODY does on their own car or is capable of doing, so it would be appropriate that a forum be created as it would contain info that everybody has the most to gain from.

I think and many others on ozhonda believe that washing/polishing etc is just as important as mechanical maitenance to your car.

Also, if there was a detailing forum, the mods of the lounge and the appearance/gallery could be keeping their eyes open for all the detailing threads and moving them to the detailing part of ozhonda for everybody to find easily for reference etc.


does anybody else think that a new section relating to Car cleaning/Detailing-is a good idea?

I say its a good idea.

I was a car cleaning noob, for example cleaning a car used to just be vaccum the interior and wash the exterior, drying only occured once in a while if i could be bothered to do it.

We got a Accord Euro Lux brand new abt 4 mayb 5 months ago and i thought that i'd better find out how to properly clean a car. Jumped onto the forums searched around for a bit and found a wealth of information in various threads.

It'd be good to have a forum dedicated to just detailing, theres probably a fair bit of people already pedantic about cleaning there cars and theres probably a lot more that wish to keep their cars in good condition.
Only problem i have now is that it takes me a whole day to clean the car...
Wash, dry, polish, buff, wax, buff.... but the car is nice n SHINY :D

how about a forum called car care and maintaince. covering cleaning and maintaing cars.

Detailing/car care/cleaning forum would be good! At the moment it is a mess with washing and detailing threads all littered around the lounge, appearance and articles forums.
