it will work as long as u got the right boss kit for it
though the type-R one is one of the best steering wheel I've used (and I've used a few from momo to nardi), it has nice grip, right size, and with airbag, what more can u ask for....

How hard or expensive is it to replace the standard EK airbag wheel with a CTR/ITR airbag wheel? e.g. Cost = cost of CTR/ITR wheel + labour....is labour expensive for airbag wheels, & is it a big job?

Yep - I agree. I want to change, I'm just scared of losing the airbag - it may save my life one day! lol...

dc2R /Ek9 steering wheels are not the same the back wise anyway back part which connects to the turning spine is different Dc2R goes (-), Ek9 goes (I)

It has always worried me about replacing the steering wheel, even with one that has an airbag in it (like the type r wheel). What happens in an accident if the airbag doesnt deploy right due to a poor connection?

Most of the Momo steering wheels are 350mm ?
What size is the Type R one? 350mm as well ?

I think its illegal, just like having an exposed pod filter, but everyone does it, just have to risk it, and hope the cops don't give you trouble for that.

its not if its legal or not, the airbag is there for a reason, like every1 says every1 does it, and hope for the best u wont run into a accident

I changed my steering wheel because the airbag unit failed.. (it costs about a grand for the unit replacement - which I reckon is a ripoff)

As mentioned u just need the right boss kit..

Remember, an airbag can cause serious harm if it triggers, so make sure it is fully disabled when removing the steering wheel, i.e. disconnect the battery and wait a few moments before attempting..

I reckon everything else is pretty straight forward..the horn can be connected by running a wire from the horn connector to the contact on the steering wheel..

i havent heard it was illegal... but ive heard that they void your warranty...

The fact that im removing the air bag gives me chills...

The tyre r wheels are well over priced... but i guess its a matter of supply and demand..
