hi folks

i just have a question about the manufacturing of honda vehicles...i have a jazz (40L) and a crv (58L) and was wondering why are the full tanks of these vehicles not larger?

is this the largest they can fit on each vehicle? what laws are stopping honda from fitting vehicles with the largest possible fuel tank capacity?

i also have a toyota camry that has a full tank size of 70L...12L more than my crv :(

nah not really..but i dun mind...the parentals pay for my petrol

i edited my original post..mistyped and wrote 68L instead of 58L for the CRV tank capacity

i want a bigger fuel tank..so i can drive longer with less interruptions...

nah i dun feel guilty...parents are here to pay for our things..like the food we eat...roof under our heads..textbooks for school..uni fees...petrol..etc.

because commodores/falcons have a larger engine than the crv but contain a larger fuel tank as well

thats true :) but my camry is a 2.2L engine (crv is 2.4L) and it has 70 litres (crv holds 58L)

so that would prove the previous relation equation to be untrue :p

Its a rough relationship.

They are two different manufacturers and I would say the fuel economy of the two are different!

i agree the bigger the engine the bigger the fuel tank (im sure theres a lil more too it). plus it'll slow the car down and become less economical because of the excess weight.

it also depends on the type of vehicle. for example most full sized 4WD's have 2 fuel tanks.

1. Becasue they have bigger engines
2. Becasue they are used for touring and off road use, where there usually is not a service station for hundreads or kms.
