injen cai, comptech ice box, mugen intake are all great for overall torque performance increases.
However, these increases will not be anything extreme.

try searching for intakes, you should come up with some very helpful information on ozhonda.

I noticed gains in higher rev range with k&n filter and lost some lower range power... I think it works better if you keep it in the air box otherwise it sucks in hot air when you take off (mine didnt fit in airbox)

how would you even notice anything significant with just a pod filter unless you dyno it? It wouldnt gain enough power for you to feel or notice. It just would sound louder hence thinking that it is faster.

I haven't dynoed mine however it does feel "different" (ie, less power low revs and more power after bout 4k)

yehh same, altho i hate the lag down low... screems once it gets to bout 3 or so but feels crappy till then... anything i can do to stop this?

sometimes due to lag can be from heat soak on the filter, even poor plugs or connections sometimes a bad batch of fuel

It may be getting hot air from the engine because you are standing still... should be improved if you make a box for it or at least partition off from the engine

i would love to make a box for it but im not too much of a "handy man" haha wiill it help much if i get some pipe from the front bumper to the pod? right now it has the stock black crap lol

In my opinion it ownt help dpwn low. My teg still has the original cold air intake but this really only helps once the car is moving cos the air is being driven in. When you are standing still there is no force of air being russhed through the pipe.

I have seen one car in this forum (locote i think) where he still has the standard air box but has cut a hole in the side close to the body so the filter fits.

...Actually, in the pic he has standard filter... but you may be able to do something like this, i dont think you have to be too 'handy'

hehe thanks for that...but will a massive pod fit in the lil airbox for it to shut? haha but then i cant have the chrome intake pipe and then it wont be loud :(

with my dc2r, i getta flat spot around 3500 - 5100 of torque
jus feels like a drop in torque that is..but when vtec cuts in, it goes ok

i wanna dyno it and see if my "feelings" or correct...all l'm using is a CAI injen intake...i don't like this "drop" affect....

I've been using the trust CAI.. it improved my throttle response and i get better mid-range torque.

AEM/INJEN have a power `hump' between 4500-5000 due to a good resonance between intake and air flow through the engine.

Mugen is considered the best for Integra
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=880191&page=1

Totti on clubrsx australia dyno'd about a 10kw increase after installing a Mugen over a short ram on his DC2R. Unfortunately the thread was deleted. He also just ran a 13.9 with Mugen, spoon headers and BC III exhaust.

The `best intake thread' appears once every month...

do u guys reckon mugen replica boxes will provide the same results as the real one?

if you wan to gain the most power wif the cheapest $$...you can try to open your stock CAI, cut off abit inside to make it bigger space..change a trust filter,k&N or mugen filter. that will cause you less than 100 and gain max hp....most important(no catch by police)....

sydteg21

yes ,the only isssue is police, i have been told that you would get a big fine for it
