I guess u can call me a cheapo but i tend to look at things less pedantically than some car owners.... so i gotta ask...

would there be much difference between a OEM ek4 strut and a big brand cusco/monstar/spoon strut

practically speaking isnt the strut brance just a piece of metal across ur engine bay that reduces chassis flex...and when i give the bar a yank its still really stiff so just asking...is there a diff besides from looks?

also another thing...si there a diff between a Tower Bar and a Strut bar

as i understand it (and i know i'm at least partially wrong)

1. a strut bar fits on to the chassis
2. tower bar fits onto top of shocks?

so which one does the ek4 have?

ek4 has tower
basically big brand ones r beta in quality and stiffer... less flex.. if u look at the stock EK4 ones... its very thin

doesnt matter what brand etc..

btw.. which is the better of the two??
i would imagine your better of with a strut, but im unsure

EK4/DC2/4 front bar is a "chassis brace". Most other aftermatket bars join direct to the suspension tops giving a more direct "feel" increase thru the front tyres.

IMO id just run the stock chassis brace , and upgrade the rear first ( swaybar , upper strut bar etc)

yes u can have both...i have seen the standard chassis brace and a aftermarket strut brace on the car at the same time... as long as the aftermarket strut brace is made so it does not touch the OEM chassis brace.

2 braces are better then 1 in theory i guess.

I have heard that EK4 comes with a 27mm front swaybar? Fact or fiction?

I doubt there will be a difference in their performance, most of it has to do with how they market it... basically its just a piece of aluminium to stop a very very lil amount of chasis flex, obiviously the roll cages are better for sort of stuff

My Spoon front Strut bar is noticibly lighter than the Stock Chasis brace so there some food for thought :P

i wanna know how much difference is made before i spend $300 for a pair of bars from JDMyARD :)

its not another one of thsoe placebo effect mods is it?

if you dont have a rear swaybar i would be spending money on one of those before you got a set of tower bars.

i noticed a difference when going from no bar to spoon tower bars.

EK4 have chassis bar, it's not strut bar.
other brands make aftermarket STRUT BRACES that goes over ur suspension system.
both is to reduce flex, but aftermarket will surely win over the Ek4 standard one.
it's like a toothpick!

put it this way.. its better than not having one..

but big brand aftermarket could be better...

you also have to justify bang for your buck.. seriously speaking, i doubt u would notice much of a difference if you were to upgrade your oem chasis brace to a front strut brace... ill do it last on the list after everything mentioned above.. ie sway bar rear strut etc etc etc........

btw if you car is too stiff your chasis would crack... if your car isnt stiff enuff it would handle badly.

another reason not to go crazy beyond oem........
