Hello all.
My handbrake light in my 88 honda gen 2 crx is always on for some reason.
Just wondering if this means there is something wrong or needs service, or just a faulty handbrake light??
It goes back to normal after a few days of driving, but then out of the blue comes back.
any info would be great
cheers all

does it come back after you put the handbrake back on?
Could be your handbrake cable getting stuck too.

true.. is your handbrake cable really tight?
if so .. try loosening it.. to see what happens...
i wouldn't really worry about too much.. unless it's really annoying..

when you pull the handbrake, u can see the light quickly come off and on.
Then it stays on.

Hand brake is bit loose.
I dont mind it, its not a problem for me, but i am selling the car it may be for new owner.
But seems like easy fix.

there is a little switch under the handbrake that gets released up if the handbrake is up, maybe the switch is faulty.

yup or could be just a loose connection on the switch if the actual leaver is loose.

also try checkin your brake fluid.
if your brake fluid is too low, then the handbrake warning will also light up.

Handbreak needs to be adjusted. Your Mechanic should be able to do it for you.
Quite easy, mine has just been fixed and I didn't tell him it was playing up same as yours!
*Sorry i didn't read the second page. Mine just needed to be adjusted.*

get a 10 mm (could be 12mm can't remember) spanner and do it yourself.. take u five minutes.. it's just a cable .. tighten it.

I'd love to keep it, but I am not working full time anymore. Bit hard to keep up with running costs, insurance, rego etc.
I really love the car so much but life is unpredictable :(
i'd upload it in the for sale section, but i am still not a member, i am a n00b LOL.
i'll upload some pics on this site
cheers
