I currently installed a M-bit 421 extractor for Dc2R on my EK4.

Car was tuned with EK4 5zigen exhaust with power fc..

I found that the M-bit extractor is way bigger than my 5zigen. i am talking about the part that connect to the cat.

I haven't get it tune but found i have lose a lot of low end torque.

Anyone know if the car has to be retune or this extractor is way too big for my car? (i got toda A + springs + head work)

Thx

i dont think the aud dc2r is anygood.. proabably on par to like an obx extractor..

you need to check out the jdm ones...

how do u find the power fc?

id just source a jdm hearders for ur car or get an aftermarket one to suit ur engine.

how about jdm dc2r extractors on a b16a ?
anyone got this setup ?
how much increase ?

I think Mbit are JDM... I think they are the company that contract header manufacture to Jun. I could be wrong here...

To regain tourqe you may need a more restrictive (smaller diameter) piping or muffler.

just to clear it up for other ppl in this thread, ATSEK4 is referring to MAXIMwork header, made by MBit, i think. so its a header designed for dc2r with a 2.5" collector i think. correct me if im wrong, just clearing it up

tony is right.

oh... in that case should be fine..
jus the you would have less clearance now... about 2-4 cms less

jus the you would have less clearance now... about 2-4 cms less

I gained 10HP@wheels with a B18c ITR header on my B16A

loss of back pressure? not sure if tuning will fix it...
let me know how it goes :)

yeah not sure re-tune would fix the back pressure problem, but i think it definitely worth a try, sicnce other ppl had sucess with ITR header on on b16a

hmm.. do you guys reckon bigger cc will fix the back pressure problem?

yep. a larger displacement engine will result in higher exhaust volume therefore increase exhaust gas velocity (not back pressure ;) - back pressure is all bad. what ppl refer to is velocity. theres a fine balance between restriction and an overly large flow diameter which determines gas velocity. optimum velocity = torque and power:D)

Look at the dyno chart from my run. Tell me where I lost back pressure by changing a header ?

you didnt lose back pressure. you lost gas velocity;)
you can see this area of the rev range prior to where the two curves cross.
ie: where the stock header was making more power. so prior to this cross over point you lost gas velocity and after this point you gained it.
its not to say its a bad header, in fact its a good header as its made proven gains. pretty much all 4-1 setups will lose soem power in the low range

Back Pressure is bollocks..

JDM DC2-R 4-1 header on EK4 B16A is very good !! I'd say improves low-down AND definately gives more top-end kick. when I say improves low-down, it prob does lose power technically, but it allows the engine to rev past the low-rpm faster and therefore get to where the power is quicker = better IMO.

but if you lose too much down low the response becomes doughy and it wont rev. like being in 4th at 40km/h and putting your foot down. going nowhere.
but it is a damn good header and has proved itself.

I think we are getting carried away with a full exhaust system and not just the original question regarding the HEADER.

To answer the question, yes they do work well for B16A :D
