Last night chucked the car at the lights into Triptronic mode and just had the need for speed :D I reved the car to the redline and think I saw the needal bounce before a changed gear I did not pay attention to how many revs I was doing as my attention was directed to a merc which was on my right and was trying to change into my lane and did not see me. Lucky I made a quick get away

It was prolly the rev limiter making it bounce, I hit many times in the old car. A one off occasion won't hurt but don't make a habit of it.

You were bouncing off something called a "rev limiter". Its there to stop you over revving your engine and damaging it. It'll be fine.. I've done it many times :)

lol yeah you gotta love the rev limiter, it gave me a fright once when the engine just died then i realised i forgot to change gear, i was changing lanes, going up a hil avoiding a dickhead in another car - its all cool dude :)

You should try doing full GT4 style, put it in 1st and and rev it, it just starts bouncing of the 4500rpm mark, sounds pretty good

should be ok - just do not overrev on downshifting ! THATS when the damage is done :)

Yeah, I've bounced the rev limiter before but only on a test drive! Sounds like you are blipping the throttle extremely quickly. It was an Alfa 157 I was test driving, obviously without the dealer with me ;)

My first test drive in a euro - downshifted from 2nd to 1st @ about 65 kmh - it bounced the rev limiter pretty hard :o Not use to the tiptronic being the otherway around.

Its all about timing, get it right and it feels great, get it wrong a your car looks like its having a epilectic fit...

LMAO, I reckon. When I use the tiptronic option I only use it to shift up and only use down when slowing for corner. When you stop it goes back to 1st anyway so w00t w00t.

The tiptronic doesn't allow you to change down if it would over rev the engine. You must have been within the rev range. This is obviously not the case for the manual.
