Just spoke with a Honda technican he's says i should feel a "surge" between 4-4.5K or even 4.8K.

I somehow doubt that you got ripped off.....its not that easy to 'steal da vtec' and chuck it in another car!

You will probably notice the vtec 'kicking in' as a slight change in engine note and a slight increase in gradient of the power delivery.

load up your car with 4 of your mates and then floor it. You should feel it pull harder after about 5000RPM.

just another quick question, how much do you normaly rev your car to to try and feel VTEC ?

you can't really feel the kick in the k20a3
especially not in the auto
but depends on how hard you plant your foot down, you might feel something at around 4,500rpm or 4,800rpm

if you have a stock car, it's harder to notice
after intake and exhaust, you should "feel" it more

also our engine is the i-Vtec, so it's dependent on how much you depress on the throttle too

i used to be able to feel it, but now i think my butt-dyno has gotten used to it..

with a pod, i still couldnt feel it, but i sure as hell could hear it.. and i noticed that there is a *slight* pull after 5500rpm.

there are two kinds of vtec out there i think, the firstis in standardintegras and suck and it changes cam timing at about 300rpm, so the idle is not affected. the second is VTEC with lift which is fitted in all Type R engines where the cams and timing actually change giving you the VTEC ruch at high RPM.

it changes at 2,200rpm not 300rpm
