are wesco pistons with standard bore and compression ratio at 12.5:1 any good compared to the standard pistons??? i wanna run more power without adding a turbo or anything,

yeah, will be better, cos it is higher compression means more power,if you go wesco pistons ,you have to use aftermarket connet rods too. in my opin,if you wanna get most out of it, you should upgrade your cam(like crower stage 2 for Vtec) ,valveteain and A good ECU with it, i guarantee you car will be really fast

you'd want to get something thats slightly oversized so you can hone the bores to make it fit better

you want to hone the cylinders for proper ring seal.

if you dont have ring seal, you dont have a motor....waste of time & money.

I personally believe the wiseco's are the best pistons on the market for a variety of reasons.

EGb16a ppl tend to hone the cylinders whenever they get new pistons. whether they be oversized or standard bore? so y only oversize

I wanted standard bore high comp pistons for my car, and was advised not to use standard bore cause it would result in a noisier smokier engine. I was surprised to hear this info, cause i figured if the glove fits.... well you know.

hopefully some of the pro's can confirm?

you can use a stock bore, ONLY if the clearances are within spec after honing

Hey ProECU,
Just wanted to hear your reasons as to why you think wiseco's are the best on the market :)

I'm currently shopping for pistons. Just interested in your opinion!
Thanks!

Many reasons...

weight, strength, design, short piston skirt, shallow valve reliefs, good quench & exhaust volume bias.
The finish is brilliant, not a sharp edge or transition to be found.

What motor are you looking to buy pistons for?

Hi to further that,
Just to confirm for The wiseco pistons you dont need to overbore the cylinder walls? Its a direct replacement?

you have to hone the walls, means full engine rebuild.
