They are a good speaker, depending on the price that you can get them for. Are you planning to amp them?

My advice is to go to a JB and get a demo of these speakers and a demo of the JL Audio VR600's. They are both similarly priced. IMO, JL Audio's are better.

yep ebay it! cheap as dirt and not worth paying $500 for but definitely work the $280. You can find for cheaper buy they're imported from overseas which takes longer and could be refurbished junk. There one on ebay for $279, get that one, the guy is located in Parra and you can pick it up to save on P&H.

yep parra, guy named Tony, got mine from him too, so did all my mates after hearing the pioneer yellows!

They are a great speaker for the price, not worth the retail but at 280 they are damn good!

why is there a really big price difference? sounds abit dodgy. are they second hand? Does it come with warranty?

12 month warranty, brand new with receipts, in box unopened. Retail mate, these guys just get it straight from pioneer, or overseas american models and cut out the wholesaler the retailer, and all the costs involved, hence the cheper price, I have even got these pioneers for $190 due to a store liquidation, just need to keep ur eyes out.

yeah i got mine from Tony, same as Ferrari. They nice and clear man. But yeah, do what other people have mentioned and go to JB Hifi and have a listen to em first, and see how they sound to you.

can anyone tell me how much better than the model below the yellows sound? I have the silver ones, and they cost me a bundle! more than my 6x9s and sub put together lol.

I recently bought the silver ones for my mate, for $140 shipped, I get them today, and I will compare to my yellow series, the ratings are almost identical, will be interested to see how they perform.

The yellow cone series is the TS-C160. They are made from a kevlar material. They are a good speaker overall when it comes to sound quality and bass response but I honestly would rather buy the JL Audio VR600s. As i stated previously: go out and test each speaker out.

aren't the TS-D160's just the normal speakers? The TS-C160R's are the component speakers, better quality and better sound over normal speakers imo... just something that really emphasises on treble for clear sound, cos typically your sub would handle bass

I had a listen to them and they sounded really good imo, more bass than the others. One more question since i'm gonna be running a sub, should a get a pair that sounds better treble wise? Eg. the infinitys' had less bass but better treble.

depends where you gonna put it. If its rear speakers then probably balance it out (altho i didnt bother with rears, left it stock cos its just rear fill anyway and gets drowned out by the sub). If its for front, then better treble. The sub in the back will handle bass. MY mate has a set up in his car with excellent treble at the front, and 2 subs in the back. Big ass bass, but clear sound. Amongst the "doof doof" u can still hear the words to the song clearly!!!

It also depends on how u setup the headunit and the HU's adjustability, you can program the fronts to only run the mids and highs, leaving the sub with the lower frequencies.
