Hello

$1000 is not going to get you aftermarket 17s with tyres unless they are second hand.

You can buy OEM 17s from any honda dealer. $1000 will get you 1 x rim and 1 x tyre.

Good Luck

For aftermarket 17's try Tempe Tyres http://www.tempetyres.com.au/index.asp as they have a few packages around the $1000 mark.

The prices are good but I am sure the tyres are rubbish.

All those cheap tyres are eloquently be described as 'loud n crap'

Yeah... if $1000 is your budget, save your money. Tyres alone will cost your atleast that much

I rang the guy, you can tell he is a ebay noob. He said the auction was per wheel even though nowhere was that stated in the auction. I'm waiting for him to get feedback to see if the sale went through.

Put an ad in the wanted to buy section - not here.

If you are expecting to get the OEM 17" plus decent tyres for $1000 you are expecting too much - I would think they are closer to $800-1000 rims only. Not many people appear to be selling them either as they look good and are good quality. When I was buying tyres recently at Beurepairs I asked if they have sold any OEM 17" Euro rims after trade - they said they sold a set for $2300 including the almost new Bridgestones.

The OEM Enkei 17" are an excellent buy IMO - as you know the quality you are getting. The Taiwanese rims or replicas are not worth the risk IMO. You are better off looking at Jap rims or something made locally like Speedywheels (i am fairly sure their rims are made in Aust)

One of the Ozhonda traders was selling Work Emotion CR Kai rims recently that suit the Euro really well. I would seriously look at these if you are after good quality rims.

Update - one thing I forgot to mention is that you should always make sure any rims you buy (especially where you do not buy from reputable tyre or wheel dealers -eg people who sell replicas or copies) show the following marking somewhere on the rim:

AS1638 (Aust standard)
DOT (Dept of Transport USA)
JWLT (Japanese light alloy wheel)
JIS (Japanese industry standard)
KBA (German TUV standard)
VIA (Vehicle inspection standard Japan).
If your rims do not have that marking they may not be legal in Australia (and definately NOT legal in Victoria - see VIS8 on Vicroads.vic.gov.au). Illegal rims mean unroadworthy and you could have insurance problems if you make a claim.

Hope this helps.

If this is only the cost of one wheel (rim + tyre). A set of 4 will set you back $2720.

A while ago (around June 2005?) a set of FIVE near-new OEM 17" with near new OEM BS tyres sold for around $1760 on E-bay. bidding started $1000. It was a bargain.. I missed the opportunity as it is too much trouble for me to organise shipping from Sydney to Brisbane.

They werent the bargin you think they were, apparently the loser renigged on the deal and never sold them to the winning bidder, i think he's a member here.
