i've got a VAFC II installed, but it hasn't been dyno tuned yet.

you can see vtec kicking in at around 2600 rpm...for some reason when i change the vtec point the malfunction idicator lamp comes on and vtec is disengaged...i'm think it's got something to do with not tuning the bloody thing.

Gonna get it tuned soon and hopefully fixes that problem.

IC.... i got mine installed at IS Motor at first we had problems... the Engine Light comes on everytime I go past 3000rpm. IS Motor used a diagnostic tool to determine what is the error in the ECU and it was a faulty VTEC wiring!!! One of the wiring in the VAFC was loose!!! Tonight is all well now!! no engine light.. no nothing.. all I have to do is to get is tuned properly.

Jus-10 did Adrian in Toda Australia tune your VAFC??

Hey Adrian, how long does it take to tune a VAFC II and how much you charge for tuning?

Whats the difference in a vafc and a say piggy back/hondadata?

how much less tunability has it got?

VAFC
16 fuel points
0 ignition points
VTEC cross over point RPM dependent only
That’s about all the VAFC does.

Hondata
1152 fuel points
1152 ignition points
VTEC cross over point RPM and Load and Speed dependent
Separate fuel and ignition tables for hi and low cam settings
A long list of extra features that I could talk about all day

You can’t really compare a full feature ECU with endless configuration allowing you absolute control over your car VS a very basic piggyback device which incepts voltage on a few wires. Its like comparing a Ant to a Human

any chance of hondata hitting WA in the near future?
there is a near absence of remotely affordable tuning for hondas here

Perth is a hard one.. iv been wanting to come over to Perth for ages now, the biggest problem is coordinating it with people over in Perth. sadly you people are like almost on another plant. I have a list of a few people interested in having there car’s tuned once I come over, and I truly do need to come over soon, but yeah I kinda need someone to coordinate everything. My biggest problem is local support, there doesn’t seem to be a workshop over there capable to provide local end user support. Hell I don’t even know where I can hire a dyno from over there, or how much it would cost… DOH
My policy with Hondata since day once in 2000 has been to only allow experts to tune the product, and I have made sure I have trained each and every dealer in Australia making sure the same level of tuning and customer service is given to each and every client. But yeah one day soon I hope to find someone in Perth to support my dream
If you have any idea’s it would be great to hear, as I truly do need local help I believe.

i hear you. it seems any workshop over here with a clue is already running with some other prefered EMS.
yeah, the logistics of it are hard. even to come over here to promote your product is costly in both time and $$.
have you contacted race torque? they have had a hand in building some very good hondas and some nice conversions. in fact they also work on the Beds plus sponsered DC2 race car. Speedworks is also another option, as they are also involved in some top end hondas.
