Hey guys,
My front brake pads are about 5000km old...when i am driving at any speed they squeal as if the pads are worn down to the pad wear indicators....as soon as i put any pressure on the brake pedal the squeal stops but reappears the moment i take pressure off the brake pedal.

i have checked the pads and they are not wornout.

It gets annoying to the point that i put my window up and turn the stereo up to drown out the squeal.

The pads are fitted correctly although this noise only started to appear after i cooked the brakes a couple of times ( they was alot of smoke coming off them and my discs were glowing- it was night time )

I'm thinking my options are to either just replace the pads or get the OEM rotors machined and fit a good set of pads or fit a new set of slotted rotors and quality pads.

What do you guys think?

I'd start with a machine of the disks. Could be the disks themselves which are glazed (good even be the pads in that case).

try taking the pads out and run over the surface of them with some sandpaper?

Is it both sides or just one side ?

both sides.
