G'day to all! been looking into this for quite some time now. thought i'd post again to see if any1 has done this since then or has new information.
My reason: 100% looks.
Integra dash? no thanku, too many complications for my liking.

If someone has done this swap, can offer advice or can point me somewhere, pleeaazz heelpp...:(

Heres some pics if u dont know what im on about (LHD hehe);

hmmm, im not too sure about the EK Dash, i have an Integra dash due here in about a week :D

i'll be swapping it into an EG soon. I have no info for the EK though.
i think it will have just as many complications as the integra one (unless the EK door trims will fit straight onto the EG?!?). Have you tryed on honda-tech? im sure theres plenty of people who have done it if its possible.

Thanks but ive tried H-T and the only significant thread on it is my old one hehe. dammit...this topic is always so confusing. i know another guy who claims the actual dash fits like a charm (with some adjustment to the holding bracket) even the doors close correctly. he's got his friends spare EK dash from an integra dash swap, which he tried out on his EG. i was skeptical but as i reseached more, analysed hundreds of dash photos, inside door panels photos and other interior photos, i started believing him. i was going to order in my EK dash new (coz i can't find one at the wreckers) but i keep getting mixed responses on wether it would fit or not.

One guy stripped the vinyl of his eg interior door panel so he could modify to fit a teggy dash. altho not a civic-civic dash swap, its a good pic of the shape of the eg dash indentation.

what u need to do, is find a spare EK door trim, and see if it fits to the EG door (maybe search on H-T or ask there)... if it fits, then why not put the EK doors on also so that it all flows with the dash (there also nicer looking than the EG's).. If the EK door trims fit, u dont need to worry about the indentation. Also, by the looks of it from that EG above, the EK dash is a pretty good fit, i cant see any gaps or anything.

Also, consider this.. if u are unable to find any info out there on this swap, how are u gonna go about doing the wiring etc?? If u are good with wiring, then u might not have any probs, otherwise it makes things difficult.

good luck in your research, i would love to see u go ahead with this :thumbsup:

Just hit a goldmine! lots of ppl now very interested and 2 guys are competing on who will do it first. one of the guys has a wrokshop wth a few various model civics in for a dash swap.
some stuff from my new H-T thread;

EK door indentation vertical length 15 and 3/4 inches. dash length 4 foot 4 and 1/4 inches.

for anyone who wants a little more preliminary reading on sizes, heres an older post but make sure u come back and post up here at Oz.

im guessing if the dash is overall same dimensions and it has the airbag deployment compartments that u require, it shouldn't be unsafe. The EK dash looks like it has only been revise for looks, but generally it (96-98) hasn't changed in my opinion. i know it's illegal to remove an airbag that came stock with the car. my car only has a driver side one so ill just keep the stock steering wheel and swap the dash. the steering wheel column doesnt change position so the airbag deployment (for me anyway) wont differ in action, if thats what u mean.
The trick is to find an EK dash that most matches ur current EG stock features like if u have climate control in ur EG, try to find an EK dash with climate control buttons. if u have a passenger airbag in ur EG, try to find an EK dash with the passenger airbag deployment latch.

BTW i am shit scared about having to change from EG obd1 to EK obd2 during this swap. im not too confident with electricals, but if i need to, when theres a will theres a way. is swapping obd1 to obd2 completely necessary or is it avoidable?

do an s2k dash in ur eg be original...

Paul1985
27-09-2005, 08:21 PM
i reckon u would have serious troubles with the s2k cluster... also, would if even fit?
The price on one of these would be insane and it may need plenty of custom work.

btw, i received my DC2 dash today :D :D :D

OMG. im realling into the EK dash into EG. the EK makes it looks so much cleaner and nicer. DC5 Dash is abit too updated and complex for the EG IMO. BLACK DASH is the way to go ! and then black carpet too ! and set of recaro's ! lol

I found one guy (i think the only one so far) who put the ek dash in eg. he made a thread to show off his results but decided not to tell anyone how to do it. im guessing he wants to stay original, how bout that?
Doesn matter, some keen minds are tacklin the problem in my thread at H-T and hopefully will be done soon or at least get more info on it.
I only wish there was as much info as the teg swap coz we all know theres a library out there for that!

Anyone know how much new WK dashes are going for? or where i can get a it?

id just buy a second hand one dude, just get one in good condition. I put a WTB for my integra dash on here.. within 2 days i had 3 people offereing to sell them.
Also, try wreckers.

Wouldnt have a clue on what EK Dash's are going for but i paid $300 + a shitload in shipping for my Integra dash.

goto www.yellowpages.com.au and check all the honda wreckers around your area, ask if they have them and ask what sort of price to look for.
