stock airbox

hey a few months ago i replaced my stock air filter with a k and n high flow filter....just wondering because i removed all the stock tubing which connected to the ari fliter box will that stop cold air reaching the filter...would it be better if i put it back on....the air filter i brought doesn t fit does anyone know wat size will fit the original air filter box as i have been defected by the cops for not having a cover for my filter....at autobarn they sell these high flow air filters that have some sort of cover over the top shaped like the filter could this stop being defected

I take it you have a pod filter? and thats why cops defected u? If thats the case, you'll need a heat shield and that should fix up ur problem with the feds..
