My Auto EG Civic GL has just suddenly developed an erratic idle whilst stationary in Drive. Did a quick search and came up with a few solutions as this seems to be a common problem with older cars especially with carbies. First port of call would have to be to clean out the IACV/EACV but i don't know exactly where it is in the D15 twin carb. Attempted to upload a pic of my engine bay but upload errors prevented this. If someone can describe exactly where it is or even supply me witha pic with it circled, i'd be very grateful.
Cheers. Nathan

Much appreciated. I've since removed this part and unfortunately did not have a visible screen like the one in the "DIY IACV Clean". As the "step by step" was performed on a ZC i just assume this part was designed slightly different but essentially the same. I proceeded to spray carb cleaner into the only two openings on the top where the 2 hoses plug into and let sit, then reinstalled. Problem still persists. Have i missed a step, done something wrong or should i look elsewhere?
Cheers. Nathan

nope,
some times they are just rooted and cant be fixed, only replacing it will fix it.
while your engine is running, unplug the 2 pin connector and see if the revs stop hunting. if so 9 out of 10 chance it need replacing.
see if you can borrow one first before you get a new one.

In the pic, notice the little black upside down "teacup"(for lack of a better word) next to the passenger side carby?? It has 3 screws holding it down.
Unscrew it and check the to see that the diapraghm has no holes in it. Replace it, if required. Also check your dizzy rotor button, spark plugs and fuel filter, just to be sure.

Problems solved. Turned out that i missed a somewhat important step in resetting the ECU. Thanks again all.
Cheers. Nathan
