I was was at Race Solutions and Hitman Dyno Day today, I enter the comp with my Type S and won Under 2L NA class trophy with 156.5 HP @ wheel :)
Most of cars today are turbo, rotary, V8 class cars..
So I was pretty lucky lol.
5th gear run got 155.1 HP @ wheel

I was impressed by a new Corolla Sportivo with an exhaust made 133.1 HP @ wheel.
The VVTL-i went soooooo loud.

2 to 3 times louder than my i-Vtec.

Thats dead set bullshit - maybe try running a pod on your teg and see how loud it is, the vvti wasn't loud at all... you obviously have no idea what vtec in the raw sound like...

Exactly - VTEC on dyno is ****in ear piercing, same as mine, same as alot of people who have worked vtec motors...

Dont let me ever hear that vvti motor are louder then vtec again! ;)

remove the intake resonator and drop in a full exhaust and you wont be saying the Sportive is louder than your Type S

I believe your Type S is stock therefore you don't hear VTEC engaging. Try getting an aftermarket intake and a decent exhaust and you will understand what everyone is saying.

Mate, I was just saying that Corolla was louder than my car. I've spoken to the Corolla owner and he said he only got the exhaust done nothing else, and I can tell his car was much louder than mine.

And don't try to be a hero here :thumbdwn: , trying to say you know everything about VTEC and other ppl don't?? My mate got a worked DC2R and I mean WORKED, so I know what it sound like.

when vtec engages on your type S it isnt abrupt as a DC2R hitting VTEC ;)

I don't dare to stand near my car when it's on Dyno...cause my heart beat faster when it revs higher...standing outside the shop (20m away) sounds like a Std Type R (with Pod filter) reving by my side...Hahaha..

^^^^^^^^ Here

You claim you have worked on them, and that you don't ever want to hear that a vvti motor is louder than a vtec ever again.

Face the fact, SAWAKITA heard the sportivo motor roar more than his typeS, no need to get your panties in a twist MrPlow

where does it say i have worked on them, owning a worked motor doesnt mean i have worked on them, and i was right there when that corolla was on the dyno and i was no where near 2-3 time louder then his!

My panties are twisted dude, and me saying "don't ever want to hear that a vvti motor is louder than a vtec ever again." doesnt support my question of show me where i said i know everything about vtec...

Maybe let SAWAKITA fight his own battles...

Crap.
And a full interior strip and Drag radials too.

and also, lay off MrPlow gents.
No need to get all worked up over it all. We know what you're saying regarding vtec vs VVTi so just chill with the he said she said dribble.

thats it hey,
i used to own a nissan too sawakita.
280rwhp S15 and went to a gsi teg.
ive found that most ppl in this forum like to put other ppl down for no aparent reason!!
as opposed to been in a nissan forum.
even though i drive a honda now, i still get a lot more respect at nissan forums than here.
thats nice power too!!!
my gsi only put out 120whp last dyno run.
but im boosting it soon so hopefully ill be over the 300 mark by this time next year

No sorry man, I don't have any CAI... I'm still thinking should I get it or not...
Injen CAI don't come with instructions?
I've installed ARC induction box on my previous car just following the instructions, easy job.

I'm going to install HID next week, have you done it b4?

love the type s man, very hot car.

155hp tho? the dyno must be reading low, i would have thought with 154kw at the fly you'd be putting our more than that?
