Upgrading the rear drum brakes to disc brakes alone is about $1000. its probably not worth it. just get better pads for the front and maybe for even better brake shoes for ur drum brakes...

EG/EK/DC2 rear brakes are all the same...

but since it's going into a EK

u should get some GLi/VTi/VTiR rear brakes

Vtechwhore how is he "stoopid"?? There are 4 posts with prices and none of them are the same. so how is he supposed to know who is telling the truth and who is just pulling numbers out of their arse??

So far we've been told anywhere from $300-1000 to convert the rear drums to discs.....

Anyone want to come up with a real price, perhaps with a list of parts needed and their costs?

keep it nice people :p

Yes, for $300 you can have rear disk brakes. All thats needed is to go to the wreckers and get the full rear trailing arms with everything attatched (ie. rotor, caliper, etc..) This wlil cost you about $300.

Installation is fairly simple. Everything should just bolt up. You might need a new handbrake cable. I know with the ED's you do, don't know about the EG & EK's

Thanks EK. I'm also doing this mod in the near future so was just looking for what is actually needed (as i'm sure this guy is).

So its just the rear trailing arms from any DC2/EK/EG that come with discs as standard and it will be fine?? Sounds all too easy :D

yep, thats it. It is all too easy. There is really not much to it.

well i found out that

ED/EF brakes dont not quite fit the EG/EK

ED/EF handbrake cables are slightly longer than the EG/EK

but EG and EK rear brakes and traimling arm are identical

I would have thought it would. I am running VTi EG rear brakes on my ED. So I would have thought it would go the other way too.

yeah, I used a different handbrake cable. Can't remember which one now. Could have been DA Integra.
