Hi there.. As first to say hello to everyone in the forum I'm thinking to buy a Honda Jazz in the future, becouse i like how big is for the shize, the engine, quality....

I would to ask Jazz owners few things:

1. I have a lower back problems, and for me is very important the comfy and ergomic seats. I'm planing to get a new car and to make a trip across Europe, and after that most of the driving would be in the city or max 400-500 km's at once (once per year). So should i still go for Jazz or to check bigger car's like Focus II (here is only 1000 EUR more expensive then Jazz), Megane II, Toyota Corrolla... ?

2. What about seat combination of making front seats totaly flat and make like a little bed? Is it possible on all Jazz or just on some specific version?

3. What about driving comfort (again becouse of my spine problems)

Any other comments maybe?

greetings

1. Jazz seats are not comfortable, they are not soft and more to sportier feel. u must sit upright enough to support u back, well to feel comfy i spose. personally i havent tested the seat for the individual cars u listed.
2. Australian ver, can not do that. im not sure with the EURo market.
3. Jazz Standard suspension is the downside of them all.. hard, bouncy, however if you driving with full load of bagage or passanger, itll soften the ride,.

all the above writing is based on my esperience,

yeah he is right..... suspension is firm, seats are firm, but supportive. ive driven mine on a 1400 km journey, almost non stop, and never had a back issue, so they arent too bad

most of it already covered above...

1. yeah . the seat is firm but yet supportive.. I too have a lower back pain problem, but put it this way.. the seat is not going to make me feel better nor does it feel worse.. me physiotherapist said I shouldn't be sitting for too long.. should stand up and walk around every 20 mins or so... however, I've travelled around in the Jazz for 2+ hours non stop and didn't feel that bad...

2. The front seats are suppose to be lower and able to align with the rear seat.. However, the Australian version couldn't do it for some reason.. Best is to go to the caryard and as them for a demo..

3. Driving position is okay... not the best around though..

My advice would be to ask for a test drive for 1 - 2 days given that you have a spinal problem..

Just want to add my personal experience. The jazz seat quality, is definitely better than say a Corolla, which I had driven previously. In fact it was my dads car and he has to add a cushion to the seat to drive it to work every day. It used to give me a sore back on short drives.

However, I drove my Jazz to melbourne once and to brisbane twice and was very happy with the seats, it didn't hurt my back at all the whole time :) Also, the REAR seats in the jazz are awesome compared to some other cars - the seating position is quite high and gives the rear passengers a good view of the road.

Making it the front seats into a bed isn't really an option for more than a half hour snooze.

yea as wats been said.

personally, i think the seats are not firm, but the are NOT positioned well enough that when u're sitting for too long, it will hurt ur lower back. tats wat happen to me quite frequently. comparing the seats with civic EG, Ek and DC5 seats. i can feel the difference straight away due to my lower back problem as well.

many peopel have complained about the firm suspension, i guess its true after all, but i like it firm, so it never bothers me.

again... for driving long distance..i really don like the position of the seats that will sour ur lower back... i do a bit of long distance, back problem never showed when i had a civic.

but.......i guess u can always change the seats? ;)

tats my contribution :)
