I don't think it's really worth the effort to change the engine to one of thoughs. Just sell your car and buy a vti or si.

I don't think it's really worth the effort to change the engine to one of thoughs. Just sell your car and buy a vti or si.

Too much hassle to do.

And improvements to sussy and brakes in Si and Vti compared to breeze / GL

And electrical options.

i'm doing it all for a pretty good price because i'm doing it myself...and the engine i'm buying relatively cheap

hmmm as much as i hate to say it cos i got the D16y get the ZC.

though both engines net the same kw atfw - personally i just think the zc fits better with the chassis... plus you got the nice DOHC engine :)

i agree with it...DOHC is always better....plus the aftermarket has better support

haha. no it doesnt. there is alot more after market support for the D16Y's and locally as well. i'm saying this as someone with a ZC, so no bias here.
but, it depends on how much you want to modify. if your just going to go as far as I/H/E and possibly flywheel then getting these parts is easy. if you're planning on headwork then stuff for the ZC is hard to find - you have to look o/s.
anyway, i'd go the ZC. smoother powerband and better response imo.
i agree with type one. although they prob net same power the zc (comparing stock engines mind you) seems to get through the higher revs better.

the vti

or the Si engine
ZC is practically same as Si engine (D16A8). ZC is JDM version. main diff is slightly higher comp due to domed pistons. but take all same parts.
you can still get parts for them, just harder to find. JUN still makes cam gears for them and some US companies make cams and valve springs etc. they use same con rods as other D's as well

yeah either one with decent I/H/E will be a pretty quick little car.
but if you want to do headwork you'll find it easier with a D16Y (vti).
i'm partial to the ZC though. especially as mine is JDM goodness. JDM nuts freak when they see its actually stamped ZC:D
