hi all,
I know this may be a dumb question..
how does a stroker kit really work...

I have heard that the b16b and b18c are the "same" engines jsut that the strokes are bigger in the b18c giving it more displacement..(not sure this is true as i think the deck heights are different?)

does that mean i can get a b18c cranks and make my b16 a b18??
(sounds about right.. but i dont think its possible)...

thanks in advance.
daniel

Ive read this:-
find a B17A crank and rods, and go over-oversized pistons in your B16A block. That will definitely get you near 1.8L, if not over.

the more i read the more i am thinking b20

i think they have same height (block), but internals are totally diff..even piston, stroke, piston, crank, rods...

THE B16A BLOCK IS 7MM SHORTER THAN THE B16B BLOCK

so you cant make your B16A into a B18C

(and yes, i am shouting - this is all searchable info)

the block heights are different between the B16 & B18. There are a few different ways of increasing the displacement though. You can get oversized pistons. I think 84mm will bring a 1.6 to about 1.8. You can also use a B18 crankshaft, but you will need custom con rods. And I think if you do both the pistons & crank it will bring you to around 2.

To be honest. I think B20 will be easier and cheaper in the end

b16 and b18c5-7 share the same head (apparently) the blocks are different, as someones mentions, the block on the b16a and b are different, ek9 has a shorter stroke or something like that.

the b16 is a nice engine, it is good at what it does, stroke it and the crank-stroke ratio is comprimised, just stick with what uve got or go b20 ;)

Similar heads, different levels of porting and different cams.

B16B and B18C5/7 Blocks are one and the same.
