Hey all, my car is finally changed to manual by charlie, however there are a few things...

First - The friction point comes in very high when releasing clutch pedal (meaning friction point comes in when i let the clutch up from the floor around 7cm, in comparison to my friends car where it is only 2cm).. this can get adjusted right? because really hurting my foot having to release the clutch to friction at such a high point

Second - When the car is starting from cold, it goes to approx 2000 revs, and then drops to 1000, and then up to 2000, and then 1000 and then so on, it just keeps going up and then down and then up (this is when engine has just started to warm up from cold). Is that normal for manual car?

Third - There is this sound coming from the car, and when i press the clutch pedal to the floor, the sound is gone, and then when i let go of the clutch pedal, the sound returns (this is when car is idle)... is this also normal for a manual car?

If all these are normal then i wont bother taking back to charlie, if it is though, ill just pop it in for him to see, its under warranty that he gave me so he "should" be able do to these adjustments?

Also my friend said because its a modified car now (from auto to manual), it doesnt have the boost power when gears change, he described that when i let the clutch go so gear can engage, the revs drop down massively before it goes up again, he describes this as a car without balls. It doesnt bother me cuz im not looking for performance but can anything be done about this???

Any help would be great help!!! Thanks!

The clutch may need to bed in a bit, which will change your friction point

This is not normal, hunting for revs "CAN" be a lot of things, Exhaust sensor, computer etc

Yep, normal... Clutch release bearing is spinning against the clutch/flywheel combo. Rattling noises are bad tho

Every single manual car does that, with no negative acceleration side effects. Changing gears at 6000, should see the next gear engage at 4500rpm(just before VTEC cam change) So you should feel that it is faster!

Any help would be great help!!! Thanks!

that noise you notice when you release the clutch isn't really a good thing. i had the same thing in my civic vti gearbox. When i press the clutch in, it went away but when i released it, the noise would come again. It only got worse where it got to the point it sounded like total shit.

I had to change the bearings in my box, which i did with my old man so all i ahd to pay for was the bearings. I'd take it back, sounds like the bearings might be on the way out. It'll probably only get worse.

If the noise is not very loud it is normal. If it is very noticable/loud it is either your Input Shaft Bearing or another bearing within the gearbox.

Its not loud loud, but you can distinguish it. It is definitely gone when clutch is pressed down. And it is louder when the car is cold

Also when car is cold, the revs go up and down when idle

Do a search as those problems are quite commone. There is even a writeup in the articles section about changing your ISB.
