Hey ppl, just wondering if you guys can help me.
I have a 2000 CIVIC CXi EK1 hatchback with the side mirror (drivers side- non electrical) being very loose. Whenever I close the door, the actual mirror always moves out of position and I find this kinda annoying and dangerous. The outside casing is perfectly fine.
I have tried tightening the screws to no success.
Anyone with any advice/ assistance would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Piglet :p

Try removing the whole mirror assembly, and re-installing. If that don't work, then you should check out an aftermarket (power) mirror replacement unit off ebay. Click on below, I have done a search for you if you are interested.

Tip: before bidding, make sure they ship to Australia, if unsure, ask the seller a question via the "ask seller question" button.
If you do get a power mirror replacement, you'll net to get the necessary

Thanks hotcvic, I took your advice and pulled the whole side mirror apart.... There were a few loose pieces which i put back in place.
Just wondering, is that mirror assembly off ebay compatible with an 2000 EK Civic hatch? Fittings looks slightly different.
Thanks again,

Do you want to remove the entire mirror assembly or just the mirror itself?
To remove the entire assembly you need to take off the interior backing plate (the bit where the mirror adjustor is) - it just unclips - and then you remove three screws and the mirror will be free (just need to catch it when you remove the final screw).
To remove the mirror itself, it simply unclips from the back.

Afraid removing the side mirror is much easier said than done, especially if its your first try. Took me a while. I ended up having to remove the door panel because I couldn't get the inside plastic plate out as it has a small section that slides under the door panel as well as having that little handle to control the mirror. Once you get one side done the second side is much easier though!
Did you need a replacement drivers side mirror for a EK1. I got one, its manual as well. I'm located in Adelaide though. PM me if you're interested.

I don't think you need to pull the door panel off there should just be a cover that you can get off, perhaps with a screwdriver, then the screws will be under that as well as the electrical connections for your electric mirrors.
I think all electric mirrors have a bit of lag and are frustrating to adjust. Just get them right and don't let anyone else drive the car =P
