I just got my car tuned last wednesday, I have a Microtech LT-8 n my car (bought it with it in), and the tuner said its not really suitable for the car. i have 98 coupe vti , so im guessing its not worth your while..

i have an LT8S in my astina sp20. it's pretty good running as a standalone (took 0.4 seconds off my 1/4 mile time), so i'm pretty happy with the unit.

it's p!ss easy to tune (imo) and has a lot of features, however, the downside of it is the resolution. it's only 16x16, and some of those points are into positive pressure (ie boost) areas. i'm also rev limited to 7000rpm so it's really only 8x14 for my situation. cold start is a bit of a b!tch as well, however i still need to tune that further.

however, on the positive side there is a 32x32 unit coming out shortly. that'll be a great improvement over the lt8s.

and the MT is a complete standalone. manages fuel and timing as well as outputs (such as my variable intake on my astina sp20, or in the honda case, vtec.

imo, if it's a good price, go for it. i got mine in a GB i organised on an astina forum and we all paid only $900 for them.

thanks for the advices guys, in this case i think i'll stick to the power FC instead of Microtech LT8.

What the hmmm microtech is good but there are better options available, it should be suited for your car thow, not sure why your tuner said that, it works does’t it…

I would take a microtech over a powerFC anyday, powerFC does not offer real time tuning !! its slow and yukky !!

plenty of cars run microtech. they are a good unit. down side is that u gotta spend time tuning cold, which is hard for a tuner cause of the fact its cold idle.

yeah cold start on the microtech is a pain.

other than that it's fantastic to tune.

even though the resolution is low for NA, when the 32x32 comes out it'll be far better.

would i get an MT again? yes. the 32x32 model is what i have planned for my race car
