Ok... im considering the idea of Supercharging BANDIT. I have a HKS Supercharger available... bolted on with 6PSi I could be looking at an extra 40HP possibly (170HP in total)..

What do you guys think?

Its a pretty straight forward operation... as the supercharger is pretty much made for the gen1 with a D16. Was gonna get a b18 but yeah - Supercharging sounds tempting!

But who would you get to tune the charger tho Mike. Everyone I know over here has had dismal results in doing such work.

it comes with an ECU already. So its just a plug and play application. I would only run it at 6PSI at the moment anyway - and if I wanted to go seriously high on boost - id need to get an aftermarket ECU - i believe the tuning side would be thesame - even easier than a turbo? its just fuel/air ratios.

i think the idea is awesome! efveryone here just wants turbo turbo turbo... supercharger are differnet, funky, fresh and cool... sure you might not get the same HP per dollar, but if you like the idea... it would be awesome!

transplant a B18c in there and give me the charger.
Theres no replacement for displacement Mike :D

how about I swap you the Charger for your B18C Adam? hahaha

I'll throw in the D16A3 in as a Bonus??

B18C was on the cards - but its the $$$ Swap cost im thinking of thats throwin me off. 2.5K for the engine, another 1K+ for the swap. I have 3 cars to keep running and try modify.. so bit spending on 1 car is out of the question.

But im open to that swap if you want to :P hahaha

I think that HP estimate is kinda optimistic from a supercharger.

But yeah, i've always liked the idea of supercharging, much more classier than turbo IMO.

I agree... but even 20HP is better than nothing... especially on a car that will weigh around 800kgs.

Dude, justify it however you want... at the end of the day, whatever floats your boat.

Go for it I say, the learning experience alone is worth the effort.

personally, I would never run a "plug and play" ecu... they should always be tuned specifically to the car. You can have two of the exact same engines with the exact same set ups, and the fuel maps are never going to be perfect.

further more, I'd say tuning a supercharger is slightly harder than a turbo...

you've got all the same a/f and ignition timing issues with the turbo, but a lot more tip in related issues to take care of. Only slightly harder though.
