hello ,
I don't really know much about hondas but a friend has a vtec and it's a sedan , ive been looking around on carpoint , tradingpost and a few others i can't seem to find none they all seem to be 4 door as his is a 2 door.
If anyone knows where i could find one , any sites or any places in sydney ( car yards ) could you please give me a helping hand as i would really enjoy buying one... I have a suzuki swift right now and would like to buy one of these machines as they seem to have some nice power and would be a suitable car..
Im looking for a low kms one how much would i be looking at?
Thanks Alot Really appreciate it if you can help

im guessing your friend has an EJ8 (vti) or EM1 (vtir).
you can get them as low as 10k up to 18k

yeah. has to be either an EJ8 or an EM1
There are a few Vti models going around.. but the EM1 are a lot harder to find these days.
I think there might be 1 or 2 EM1's in the 'Cars for sale' section, if it hasnt been sold yet

He had a 98 or 99 model , it would clean most cars on the road ( not trying to sound like a hoon or anything )

as everyone else has said..your looking for a coupe....whats your budget?? to get a civic coupe vti-r (EM1) you'll be spending from 16g-22 depending on the seller. such a big price difference as they are a rare car and people know they can get the extra couple of thousands for the car. these will range from 99-00 models. these come with a B16a2.
if not you could get an civic coupe vti (EJ8). these range from 9-15g im guessing depending on the k's on the clock and the year of make..i think these started in 96. these cars only have a d16y8 SOHC vtec.

Im about to get my p`z and i have the exact amount of 16g to spend on a second car , i could even trade in my gti if they took trade ins. Is there really much different in the 98 and 99 models? As in performace wise? I don't really know much about civics just trying to learn as i would love to get a coupe with the vtecs in them..

Your mate scored an awsome deal if it is a VTiR. Cause dont' think with 16G you'll be able to buy a VTiR unless you're really lucky. It's pretty much the hardest civic to get your hands on these days. As for performance wise, if you are serious about your performance the VTiR is the go, or buy a Vti and Wack in a B-Serious engine.

i think you should budget at least 18-19k if you would like to get a VTIR Coupe
like others have mentioned, these cars are pretty rare and they range to about 22k
if you are lucky to find one for around 16.. which i doubt. then u'll have a bit extra for transfer fees, insurance etc.

Maybe his is a VTI , Do VTI's come in 98? Because im pretty sure it would be that then because he told me they wanted 19k for a 99 model... It's two door do they come in two door? I'm sorry if im annoying everyone im just trying to get some help :)

I don't want a hatch ive got a GTI right now and it sucks because there's not much space , ive seen my friends car clean up skylines and various other cars there really nice cars with alot of potential..

same motor but matey?
and the civic hatches are way spacey, even the EG hatches are roomy even though from the exterior it looks small.
he cant clean up skylines unless it worked HARD lol.
CoOL
by the way the swift gti = :thumbdwn:

if u want to clean up skylines then i suppose get a skyline to start with then boost and front mount it, ?
not easy to beat skylines with just a VTIR

click on this buddy...

also.. i wouldnt go near the vti is u are after performance. The vti-r wouldnt clean up skylines either IMO unless the driver doesnt know how to drive.
btw.. this one is hot! in black mmmmm

at least u know what your looking for now
1999/2000 Honda Civic Coupe VTI-R is an awsome car IMO, and id be happy with one.
If your really into this car and u said you had $16k your reasonably close to affording one.

if your really keen on hondas and want the same engine.. u could look into Del Sols.. they got the b16a also.
do a search for del sol on here and u should find pics of del sols. They usually cost i think between $12k - $14k..

damn there getting expensive, id settle for a hatch just for the pricing alone. Although the EM1's are 100x hotter
