hey guys, just hooked my speakers up with my amp. Not using stock speakers. just wondering why, when my engine is running, and when i step on the accelerator, it makes a "bee" type of noise. the harder i step on the accelerator, the louder the noise gets, like its synchronising with my engine lol. btw i got two amps hooked up together. thanks

is it cos the cables are diff? or not done properly? my earth cable setups are as follows: earth to amp 1, amp 1 - amp 2. would it be better if i got a fuse distribution box for the earth cables as well? the ones where you plug the main power into, then it splits into two cables? thanks

Might be your earthing but firstly; are your RCA's and Power cables running on the same side? If so, split them, RCA's on one side and the Power on the other side. Should fix your problem man.

its your grounding for the headunit. i had the same problem a few weeks ago. rewire the grounding and you should have no problems.

heres my setup.

*im using one set of RCA with splitters.
*amp 1 is used for front and rear speakers
*amp 2 is used for subwoofer
*power cable is plugged into a distribution block which splits it into two

amp 1- power cable into amp 1, splitted RCA into amp 1, remote cable in amp 1, ground cable to earth.

amp 2- power cable into amp 2, splitted RCA into amp 2, remote cable goes to amp 1, ground cable to amp 1.

the rest are normal, speaker cables in amp 1, subwoofer cable into amp 2.

hope that makes it clearer.
Tahnks in advance

hey man i had the same problem make sure that the power cable and the rca cable dont touch each other and run on either side of the car meaning that the power cable is far away from the rca
and make sure that each grounding wire is touching a metal part of the car body.
that will definetly fix ur problem.

RCA cable running for example on the left side of the car, and the power cable running on the right side of the car. This should fix the problem, otherwise it will be your grounding to your headunit, just rewire that and all should be well.

amp 2- power cable into amp 2, splitted RCA into amp 2, remote cable goes to amp 1, ground cable to amp 1.

Ground your amps to a point on the chassis (scrape back the paint)

Reground your HU

Upgrade/Add a thicker ground wire from chassis to your battery

Ensure RCA's/Power arnt next to each other.

thats stooring .. put your speaker cable far far away with your ground cable ... hopefully that sound will 'gone.

make sure you dont run your power cable with any other cable next to it...ie speakers, ground, remote to one side of hte car and the other side run the power!!!! But check your ground cable first, might just be a bad ground

progress guys.. i redid everything but its still there. When i unplug the RCAs from the headunit theres no noise.. so i think it might be my head unit... i'l tell you if it is..

don't think there is a point in doing that?
because without the rca's there won't be any sound from the speakers.
like..
the h/u sends the sounds via rcas.
then to your amp then to the speakers.
and check the earth on the head unit. re earth it a different place.
make sure all the power cables are running the opposite side of the speaker/rca cables. check eartch on the amps..
i've also experiecned faulty rca leads.

also try a noise filter?
never tried one. but hey it might work.

Ok, first redo the headunit earth.

If that doesnt fix it.

Disconnect the rca cables from one amp(so that only 1 amp is getting a signal) still got noise???

No? then its the amp you disconnected has faulty RCA inputs, time to visit a tech.

yes? change the rca cables to the other amp, still got noise?

No? its the other amp that is faulty.( the 1st one you tried)

Yes? get another set of RCAs, do the above testing again.

If you still get noise.

connect the RCAs so that only one plug at each end is connected and do a series of tests.

Ie Left output of headunit to Left input on amp 1
right output of headunit to left input on amp 1

Left output on headunit to right input on amp 2
right output on headunit to right input on amp 2

This should isolate the problem as being an RCA output on the headunit.

And from the way you had your amps earthed, I'd put my money on it being a damaged earth track in your RCAs on the headunit.

You dont have a Pioneer headunit by chance do you?

hey guys, finally fixed it.. found out it was the RCA ports from the headunit that was f*cked. I swapped headunits with my mums one (identical) and not theres no noise *yay*. also, cos my mum is just running stock speakers through the headunit, it works fine on hers as well. so thanks everyone for trying to help me out. :D
