Just like to ask whether this is possible? And where I could source a B16A2 head (or an A1, not fussed really). Would the loom need to be changed in order to accommodate the new ECU?

The current engine is tuned for a good 90kw at the wheels and is of course a SOHC V-tec engine. Would the power gains justify the amount of money involved?

Thanks fellas!

Aight, i get it. S'all i needed to know :D Been looking in the wrong places for info, coz i couldn't find anything regarding that. Oh well, gotta get onto finding a b16a set up.

OR

Would it be better to keep working on this engine that I got now?

how did you manage to get through the process of modifying a D16Y1 to make 90kw atw without learning about simple stuff like this?

or better yet a B18C

The D16Y1 was bought as a whole front cut package that was pretuned for 90kw atw. The only thing that I hadn't known all this time was that a DOHC head isn't able to be fit onto a SOHC block. I really had no idea :o So sorry to have sounded so ignorant before :D

Anyway, I'd love to source a B16A or a B18C but these two engines are so damned hard to find. Though i'm currently looking at a few wreckers with CRX's going under the knife some time soon.

I read somewhere in the FAQ that I could retain my D series loom. But I definitely need a new tranny and ecu.

Like I asked before. At this stage, would it be better to keep working on the D16? Or would it be worth while to have the B16 dropped?

the DOHC head onto SOHC is just one of the problems, the other being they are different series of engines. D and B, not interchangeable.

drop in a B or turbo the D.

perhaps you should whack it on a dyno, no offence but i too am a little skeptical of 90kw atw.
